In this thesis, Nicolò will present the development of immersed isogeometric methods for computational mechanics, focusing on the Shifted Boundary Method and the Gap-Shifted Boundary Method. His work addresses the simulation of complex geometries without requiring cut-cell integration, while preserving high-order accuracy, robust boundary condition enforcement, and stable conditioning. The thesis also explores the coupling of non-conforming isogeometric patches, contributing to more flexible and reliable workflows for embedded and multipatch discretizations.

This work has been carried out within the framework of the GECKO MSCA Doctoral Network, contributing to the development of advanced isogeometric analysis technologies for complex engineering applications.

We wish Nicolò all the best for his PhD defence.
